...so I sat down to create place settings for a fall or Thanksgiving table setting. I was able to use the ovals for stamping with markers and water, then I used stamps and my calligraphy pen to write on top of the ovals after they dried. Next I created the place cards by folding cardstock in half and using the Spellbinders dies with the partial die cutting technique (so that I could cut once to make a small note size card). I mounted my favorite die cut shape from the Radiant Rectangles die set, and then adhered the ovals on top of that, to create the base cards for my place setting. It worked out really well and they stand up nicely in front of a table setting! What fun!
Although my card bases are way smaller than hers, in this video Christina is doing something very similar to what I did cutting through the folded edge of the cardstock to make the bases:
