My goodness it's a been a long time since I've joined my Dirty Dozen sisters in a challenge. So good to be here for June's Central Theme Challenge - A New Slant and to welcome our new Dirty Girls too. My design incorporates slanted small images and sentiments to create a background design.
Recently I decided to use some older sets in a series I've called, Everything Old is New Again. This is my happy place! I love this type of design. I remember absolutely falling in love with Susan Branch's illustrations back in the very early 90's. I read one of her cookbooks all the way through on a return flight from California to D.C. (she laughs). I remember thinking to myself, this is what I love - tiny art, borders, little images, sweet hearts and flowers. Before I knew it I was home and the office called - back to work. In 1997 I began the plans for a beautiful garden - a sanctuary where we could de-stress. When it was finished I was amazed! Never in my life had I ever done anything remotely like it. What a learning process. The garden became a place I needed in that season of my life. It truly became a sanctuary for me. My soul was nurtured by the lessons learned there. It provided peace in a place that seemed to have none. Quiet in a town that never sleeps, comfort when tears flowed, and healing to mend a weary spirit.
I hope I've given a new look to a much loved stamp set. You can find this piece on my new blog, Sincerely Susie http://slessard.blogspot.com/2016/06...-you-soul.html I'm always home. Come, sit, stay a while (she smiles).
Blessings for a wonderful 4th of July
Sincerely,
Susie ~
