"The Cake Blog" is the source of inspiration for this week. I chose this cake for my inspiration. The image was watercolored. I did alter the digi a bit(after printing)......making the glass vase taller since, on the original, I felt the glass container was too short to support this ample sprig of blooms without toppling over.

Oh, dear Sallie! You continue to "knock my socks off" with your watercoloring! You are a sweetheart and are so skilled with the watercolor brush! This is absolutely and completely exquisite, my friend! And the colors are so beautiful and soft. I love how you've "balanced" your vase too! Hugs!!

What a gorgeous take on that wedding cake - your choice of image, I agree, did need a taller vase, and your water coloring of the flowers is breath taking, Sallie, and even the shadow beneath is perfect and gives your sentiment just the right spot to begin from!!!

Your painting always captivated me, Sallie but my jaw dropped when I studied your color blending on this one! You have brought this beautiful bouquet to life!

So, I always grin when I find a piece of art from you in the gallery.

Ah, Sallie, what beautifully coloured hellebores - I love these flowers and have them in my garden! Your watercolouring is always so perfect and I love the lilac border! The cake you chose is divine, can you imagine cutting into one of these!!!

I saw your card earlier today, but opted not to leave a comment because I didn't want to have to signin in again. I've come back for another look and I haven't changed my mind since earlier: Your floral image is colored to perfection. Wonderful choice of colors and such a great sense of movement and fluidity in your painting. Just simply outstanding, Sallie.
