I love this weekÂ’s autumn colors! Thank you Maura! Although itÂ’s been 100 degrees outside, I was looking at sweaters in a catalog when one inspired this card. I may have pushed the colors by adding the dark brown but I did feel the colors needed a neutral and decided on the brown (taken from the sweater) instead of a white or cream background.
I tried embossing the flourish in crushed curry but unfortunately that color embossing powder really doesnÂ’t match the ink or paper and it looked rather garish. I opted to do the embossing in gold to match the button. The leaves are crushed curry CS sponged with pumpkin pie and cherry cobbler then stamped with garden green. I sponged the edges in crushed curry to knock down their brightness. Before adhering them I rolled and sort of crushed them to soften them. I wanted them to have the feel of actual fallen leaves. So the stems are glued directly to the card but the upper ends use dimensionals to lift them off the card. This is one card I probably canÂ’t mail!
