Karen is our hostess this week, and she has challenged us to use a beautiful combination of Soft Sky, Perfect Plum and Wild Wasabi. For our dessert option, something other than a straight edge. Karen, thanks so much for the dessert option: I've had this die for some time and have used it only rarely. Fun to get it out, and I like the results!
I made this card for my sister's upcoming birthday, and wanted to use my Bird Crazy set and also my set of Inside and Out Sayings. Recently she has been the source of some great advice and support, so this sentiment seemed perfect. The inside says, "One day I'll catch up, but remember--you were amazing first!"
I used a die to cut my fancy (not straight!) edge for the front of the card, and a cute little doily die, as well as flower and leaves from Blueprints 12. The bird was stamped on watercolor paper with Versafine Black Onyx ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. After I colored her, I applied some Crystal Effects to her eyes, and some white gel pen accents.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
