I went for a poppy inspiration found HERE on the fabulous website Audrie and Harriet chose for us today. Kind of sketched in a few poppies and stems and then applied a light color wash bg with watercolors. Then very loosely applied paint, not worrying too much about the drawn lines. When finished I then drew in the lines with a black fine line marker - not only can you go outside the lines with this style of watercolor, you get make your own! I have to emphasize, I am not an artist, I don't know how to draw, so if I can do it, I reckon anyone can, this is kind of scribbly stuff. Next step was to stamp some paint splats in the general areas of color, and last of all I spritzed on some paint in green, red, and black. Oh dear, I just noticed that I forgot to put in some leaves! :(

First of all, Bridget, do not say you aren't an artist, as this is certainly a work of art. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful, and I love the spritzed BG. This should be framed! Into my faves for inspiration.
