I have wanted to make something with my pearlized ivory paper for some time and when I saw the lamp shade in this inspiration site, I decided to make my birthday card with it.
Like the beautiful satiness of this lampshade the sheen of the pearl paper just doesn't come through in the photograph and it looks like just ordinary ivory paper!
This is my HAPPY accidents card. I was pressed for time to get this finished and wasn't paying attention when I embossed the frame and the first side came out de-bossed and I liked it and so I did the other side the same way. It also turned out with some lines from the EF, and I first tried covering them with a ribbon treatment...ewwww...NOT! Then...I found this Memory Box die and decided to cut some pieces from it to cover the lines. I stamped my sentiment too high...What to put in the blank space?...wallla...the pearl treatment happened! This butterfly (Crafty Ann) has an open body, even the head!Even the pearls for the body didn't want to stick!...How do I anchor it with out it showing?...I dig around and find the body that has fallen SOMEWHERE when I die cut it and I try to glue it back in...nothing to glue it to! SO I have to cut out a solid piece to adhere to the back that looks half way decent... I am so glad you can't see the back side of this beautiful butterfly...talk about hooking the thing-a-ma-jig to the thing-a-ma-bob! :-)
This card is for one of the ladies who works at the local Scrapbook store whom I have become friends with. Christine is a wonderful artist and creates many beautiful cards herself. I had so much fun making this card for her.... laughing as each HAPPY accident turned this card in to one of MY all time favorites.
Thanks for coming to see my birthday card for this lovely lady!

Peggy, your card turned out beautifully..even with accidents. I love the debossing and the butterfly is breathtaking. It just couldn't be prettier.

Oh Peggy, some of my favorites in my own tiny gallery have stories like this--definitely a comedy of errors in my case. I think we have to pull out ingenuity and when we do, we bring in a part of ourselves that is new or untried--in your case, you are just artistry incarnate, for I am in awe of so much versatility in your style and such a high level of craftmanship in so many styles, WOW!
I've never created a card all in cream or white like this, but would love to if I could create something as elegant and beautiful as this is, oh my!!! Christine must have been floored when she received this, I LOVE it!!!
As usual, you teach me a great deal when I see your cards, and I am further grateful for your encouragement and support--from what I see on SCS, you are a major force for both here, and I respect and admire you for this and more. Thank you, Peggy!

GASP! This is AMAZING!! I understand why it's one of your all-time favorites. I think the butterfly might have to be put on my shopping list - it's one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Kinda like this card!
