Wow this past week has gone so quickly, it's Teapot Tuesday once again and this week we are sending our thoughts and warmest wishes to Doreen in Arlington.
The story this week was about Dory and Daisy and their puppy dog Paisley. The girls failed to bring home strawberries, so 42,000 teapotters have been called upon to deliver the goods.
I was thinking that a recipe book would be handy, so here is young Gertie (good friend of Hazy and Lazy and lives just up the road from George). Young Gertie started out life as a Sassy Cheryl digi stamp.
Gertie and the book are paper pieced. If you are faint hearted look away now.....I had to chop off her fingers in order to adhere the paper pieced book, thankfully I glued her pinkies back in place and no lasting damage was done.
The card base is a centre step card. I just got my chicken wire die, so I had to use it and I also used my new "dots" die on the back panel. I added black ink spots to try and make it look like a hanging bag of strawberries. It didn't really work, but it's the thought that counts.
I added some birds, twine, grass, a strawberry stamp and pre-made flowers (on the hat). Thank you for looking and have a wonderful week everyone.

Susie, another wonderful card! That little girl with the amputated and re attached fingers is just darling. All the details of your cards are so perfect, so very creative. I would like to have a copy of the book - Is it on Amazon? Just tooooo cute!

Well here it Thursday and I am just now seeing this AMAZING creation. You have my MUCH lusted after chicken wire die....and I love love love the way you have incorporated it into this, I THINK, my favorite one yet of your brilliant works of art!!! First off your recipe book ROCKS!!! Love the handlettered art work on it..42,000 is a LOT of strawberry related recipe's and it is miraculous in its own way. That little red haired cutie has the most adorable face and LOVE the shoes that say size 4 and right and left... You do NOT miss a detail! It is so much fun to go back again and again and look for new additions not spotted before. Gertie's hat with the sweet flowers and the birdies looking over her shoulder while Gertie is setting in the grass absorbing the recipe's one by one, all tell such a wonderful story.. This just made me smile ALL over! It will be cherished by its reciever...pinned and faved:-) for SURE!!!!

A Teapot Tuesday Recipe book - what a wonderful idea, Susie. Sounds like something I should add to my too-large collection of cookery books. In case you didn't know it (some people assume my user name is just my name) I used to work as a cook .
As always I love this, every single detail of it. The chicken wire background, the birds on the wire, and of course your sweet Gertie.
