This week our teaparty is in honour of Trent Baker from Virginia. I hope all of our cards help brighten Trents day as he under goes treatment.
The teapotter story this week was great. We have to get an exotic orchid out of Columbia. The 1947 Cessna has been grounded, so the sisterhood of the travelling teapotters have been asked to get airborne and come to the rescue.
The crew at Trent Air have just been given flight clearance. Young Tina is happily watching the departure of VH-SCS (an Australian registered Piper aircraft). True story, I made up SCS to represent Splitcoast Stampers, VH is the call sign for Australia. I googled VH-SCS and sure enough it is a little crop duster in NSW where Sue28 lives. I digress, back to the card.
To say I had fun making this is an understatement. It took about 2 hours to find a digi stamp suitable for Trent. This is a Mo's Digital Pencil stamp. I paper-pieced yound Tina, except for face, hands, hair and shoes. I scored some cardstock to look like the galvinised metal walls of a hangar. I handmade the Trent Air sign, the signs on the walls were done on the computer. As soon as I saw little Tina looking skyward, I immediately thought of this LdV quote.
I used some liquid pearls on the goggles, hard to see in the photo, which is probably a good thing. I scrubbed some distress ink on Tina's knees and a bit on her jacket. I used a dauber dunked in TH - Black Soot around the edges of all the paper-piecing. I used 3D foam tape for the big sign, but Tina just has a 3D appearance by only sticking her down on one side.
My thoughts were with Trent and his sister Tina (our SCS TMD) the entire time I was making this. It is occassions like this when it is a real honour to be a Teapotter.
Thank you for looking and have a great week everyone.

My Gosh, Susie, this is just FANTASTIC! The detail is wonderful. I loved reading the Flight Details and Manifest (you are a clever, clever girl *wink*). And the embossing on the hanger doors - genius!! Your image of "Tina" is one in a million, Susie, seriously. Trent's going to love this card. What's not to love about it?
