Hi! This card was made for today’s Way’s to Use it Challenge and fits this week’s Stampin’ B’s Challenge to make a card inspired by a song. I chose, “Let the Sun Shine In.”
I saw the challenge this morning, (yes, I FINALLY got a really good night’s sleep! I woke up at 8:15AM!), and immediately though ROYGBIV. Well, that’s NOT what ended up on my “rainbow” today! I thought about using a brush and re-inkers to create a “painted “ look. Then, I thought about punching and cutting circles into rainbows. Then, well, my mind went to paint swatches. Why? Because there was a Lowes’ ad on tv and it had people repainting their houses! I decided the FASTEST way to create a semi paint swatch that looked like a wispy rainbow would be to use Copics and my airbrush. (Rainbows are not "solid, they are hazy...) Okay, and rainbows are not super vivid and bright, either...But, hey, it's my rainbow! While I'm on a roll...suns don't look like zentangles, either...or have faces...GEEZ! this is getting ridiculous! LOL
I cut a strip of cardstock and started in the middle with a yellow and added in the colors, overlapping so that a ‘blend’ would look more natural.
I haven’t really gotten to play with the zentangle sun since I drew it last summer. I just didn’t know what to “do” with it! But, well, I think I like her with this rainbow! I stamped two of the suns and colored the face and the circles surrounding it. I punched out the face, (okay, that sounded bad!), and then layered it with a pop dot onto the face of the second sun. I colored in the sun’s rays with Copics.
I hope you like this one!
