Hi! This card was made for today's Ways to Use it Challenge: Texturize me- Use 2 different embossing folders AND today's Stampin' B's Challenge to use a die cut on your card AND this week's Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge to emboss.
When I was little, I used to play tea party with my mother. She'd get out the REAL tea service and we'd eat cookies and sip steeped tea in the beautiful cups. We'd hold up our pinkies and giggle and tell stories. So, Tea sets are always fun to admire. (They evoke the memories of the life of the Four Year Old me.)
I was recently going through boxes of my great, great grandmother's china and tea sets that were hidden away in the bottom of my mother's china cabinet. Wow! This set was designed back in July of last year, and I hadn't seen those sets in YEARS. However, the patterns are eerily similar. So much so that I was taken aback when I unwrapped the first set of cups. No wonder Mother approved this set's first draft. I was shocked then when she smiled after a few moments of thought. Now, of course, after she has passed, I realize why she smiled. She was remembering our time together, when we were alone. Before my sister burst onto the scene with her birth, hospital stays, and near fatal illnesses. We lost our special tea times. Now, every time I use this set, I smile, and know WHY I smile.
I stamped both of the images and colored in with Copics. I sponged in a bit of Adirondack Ginger around the cut out images. (I seem to be on this brown/blue-green kick this week...)
