Hi! This card was made for today's Stampin' B's Challenge of making a Mother's Day Card, and today's Way's To Use it Challenge: Use Chipboard.
Well, I'm the "Cheapest Woman Alive." (Not sure I LIKE that name, but Big Grand-daddy gave it to me when my grandmother passed away.) She was the Cheapest Woman of ALL TIME! She saved EVERYTHING and repurposed everything. She had a cereal box that went from holding cereal to being a Barbie King Size Bed, then cut down to create two magazine holders and then used as shims when the holders got a bit crushed! She used the lining as WAX paper! And she reused that for months! After it was torn and pretty GROSS, she turned it into fire starters! Seriously, the woman was AMAZINGLY thirfty!)
I do not have a stash of chipboard. In the printing industry, the term "chipboard" is used for the piece of heavy backing on a scratch paper pad, or pad of paper. In crafting, it is sometimes thicker... However, I DO have a BUNCH of USED USPS FlatRate envelopes that I save if I need a substitute for chipboard! So, I ran the envelopes through the Big Shot with the new Tim Holtz Label dies. I did this two times, to have 2 sets so that I could layer them to get a thicker appearance. Next, I cut them all in half and taped them together. (I have photos on my blog!)
The lily was stamped in Chartreuse Palette Ink colored in with Colored Pencils. I used Odorless Mineral Spirits and a blending stump to blend and highlight.
The image was cut out and adhered with a pop dot.
Finished card size: 5" square
Total time to complete: 23 minutes

I make my own chipboard stuff, too (and save those paper pad backings to do it!!). Love your chipboard accents and lovely coloring. A very pretty Mother's Day card!
