This card was made for my step daughter ErikaÂ’s 16th Birthday. She loves her Converse shoes and Mambo Melon is the exact colour of her pink ones. I found a good size picture of the shoe from the angle I wanted and sized it in Word. I printed out several copies in Black and white. I cut out all the different pieces and used them as templates. I traced each out onto the paper and cut them out.
I used the sewing machine to stitch the shoe and learned that it is hard to stitch on the edges of CS and that the needle likes to jump off. On the next try I learned that the needles don’t like the double sided sticky tape and it will gum it all up. So then a seam picker will work to take the thread out. I also learned that a Soufflé white gel pen looks the same as the normal white gel pen, and that it doesn’t work for faux stitching. I didn’t feel like cutting out each piece again! Okay, back to use the first try where it jumped off the edges. Yah, the ribbon shoe laces will cover it!
The Logo is to size of the real logo but I used WordArt to create my own customized Birthday logo. I used foam dots to pop out the star.
I hope you enjoy and can overlook the bad stitching on the outside. IÂ’m trying. :-D
