What a great couple of challenges! For today's IC, I chose This book for the eagle and flag. I love American, patriotic images. I also wanted to try the fun hinge card from Monday's TLC.
Actually, I started this card a couple of days ago, but I've been under the weather so didn't get it finished. The images I used are a Sneak Peek of Memories of Patriotism images from [B] Innovative Stamp Creations. These are due to be released on June 8 (what a great day, lol, it just happens to be my bday).
For the eagle bg, I did the wrinkle free distress tech with the red and blue dye inks. When it dried, I stamped the image w/ the indigo pigment ink and embossed w/ the cobalt ep. Then I painted in the image w/ bleach and also did a bleach splatter on the bg. Sort of reminds me of fireworks going off or the bombs bursting in air. It's layered on vanilla that I punched the two corners w/ a star in a circle punch, then snipped a few of the connecting points and tucked the image under the stars. I stamped the star border w/ the russet ink on tan c/s and attached underneath. I didn't do the extra layer like Lynn did, but instead, attached a c/s "stop" on the back of my image layers that would just barely tuck inside the upper punched border of the card front and "stop" it from sliding further down.
The rest of the card front is dp, punched top and bottom w/ an MS border punch and a vanilla strip also punched and layered offset. The greeting and more star borders are stamped underneath the hinged image.
Thanks so much for looking
