Nothing strikes panic like the words "30 min. card". I read that on today's challenge and a huge knot formed in my chest. After I got over feeling like I needed oxygen, I did a few chores and gave myself a pep talk and convinced myself I could overcome this humongous hurdle.
Ok, so I get the first two colors of c/s that I can live with. Check. Pick one image. Check. Stamp it and quickly add a little color. Check. Found a black frame w/ the nestie oval already cut out. Cool!
At this point, I'm cruising! I'm on the bullet train!!
I add just a couple of layers. Check. (This is so few layers for me, they are hardly worth mentioning.) Use a border punch. Check. Do minimal piercing for the dot requirement cause I'm doing so well I can actually see the finish line. And I'm combining two challenges.
Stamp the greeting and attach the black oval frame. Check. Man, I've got time to spare!
Then the train wreck. See that little piece of demonic ribbon? It derailed my train. I admit it. I have SRD (Severe Ribbon Dysfunction). I am compelled to buy the stuff and admire it on all the lovely cards. Then comes the time when I cannot stop myself from trying to use it. I'm hoping for a support group or at least an intervention team. That little piece of *$#(*@ ribbon ate my lunch. No lie.
So this card took about 28 minutes which is a miracle for me. If you don't count the ribbon. Then it took another 20 minutes of wrestling. Please oh please don't tell the Challenge Police. I'd tear the ribbon off except for the mess I made of the card right under it when I was trying to bring it under control. Sadly, there is no controlling ribbon. I can hear all the rolls of ribbon laughing at me as I type this. Evil, evil ribbon.
TFL and for reading this ribbon saga.

I love everything about this card - the colours, the layout, even that ribbon. Got a great big chuckle out of your ribbon story. I think you saved the *train* with everything you got going for it.

Lol Julie!! First off, your card is beautiful!! Second, thanks for making me LOL this morning with your story about the ribbon! Isn't it funny how we just all assume that no-one else could possibly ever have any troubles or crafting mishaps while making their cards! I am always so thankful when someone shares their mishaps with the rest of us, then I know it is not just me, lol!! Your card really is beautiful, and I love your unexpected piercing detailing!!!
