Thanks very kindly, Sharon for the last color challenge of the year. Can't say I was jumping for joy when I read the colors, but please have a look and tell me what you think! I was able to work in the HCE11, simple tole also. Check out the extra challenges through January 03 over on the main challenge forum.
I've waiting to use this Tim Holtz pattern set for quite awhile. It just seems to fit with the new year approaching. I paper pieced my ladies garments and used paper tole for the buttons and brooch of the foremost model. Basic Grey's Stella Ruby was the patterened I chose to use for the paper piecing and the scalloped oval mat. I embossed the handbag with clear ep also. I used the tiniest bit of hand dyed silk ribbon for attach the ovals together. The staples were stamped and then I really stapled over the faux ones! The whole collaged pieces is mounted onto Cosmo Crickets, Souvenir paper, named Treasure.
I'd love to hear what you think about this piece. I have blogged about it in detail, with a picture of my most dear Christmas present, if you would have a visit to my cyber home. Happy New You, opps, YEAR!

WOW Susan! I have to say, that is AMAZING! I'm with you--those are not my favorite colors. I'm more of a soft subtles kind of girl But I think that the colors actually do your design justice, for a very sophisticated look.
The card itself isn't a card so much as a piece of art; it's frameable! So much to learn about layering and composition from your example.
