Here is my card for this week's Sketch Challenge (169)AND Ways To Use It Challenge- Just Spray It. I thought the poppy from Bloomin' Beautiful was perfect for the sketch and I have had some Glimmer Mist hiding on the shelf that was ready to come out!
I have the Ginger Blossom dsp and I decided that today was a good day to pull it out. I accented to dsp with basic black, river rock, and groovy guava cs. The dsp was used on the bottom layer and was matted with river rock and basic black cs. I sponged the edges of the dsp with black ink. The second layer is river rock matted with basic black. I stamped this layer with En Francais in groovy guava ink. I also stamped the sentiment from Sincere Salutations on this layer in basic black ink. I used the crop-a-dile to add the black brads to the left of the sentiment. The third layer is groovy guava cs and is matted with river rock and basic black. I stamped the flower image from Essence of Love in stamped-off basic black on this layer. The top layer is the main image and is only 1-1/2" thick (I promise I measured it Roxie!!!). I stamped the poppy from Bloomin' Beautiful on whisper white cs with black StazOn. I used my prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits to color in the flower. I then sponged river rock ink around the edges of the panel. Finally, I sprayed iridescent gold Glimmer Mist over the entire whisper white panel. It is hard to tell in the picture, but the whole panel is really shimmery and pretty! I added the brads in the corners of the dsp panel, it felt like a little something extra.
I think I maybe went a little crazy with all the layers, but I love how they look and I love the contrast of the black! Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!
