Congratulations to this weeks FS, BeckyTE, you have a wonderful gallery full of interesting works of art. Here is the card I chose to case: Misty Believe by BeckyTE at Splitcoaststampers loved the simplicity of your image and colors. I think this also qualifies for LSC159.
Many people commented on my card for Fridays' limited supply challenge...that at first they thought I had used a wooden cross...well, I couldn't resist trying to convey the meaningfulness of the rugged cross and Easter which is next Sunday. For my card, I thought popsicle sticks...if I would distress them enough to get the texture I needed...out came my Basic Grey file kit, but in the end I used my DH's vice grips to break the wood and leave splinters as the real cross surely had. I used Tim Holtz distress walnut stain and brushed corduroy to color the wood. The crossbar is from K&co/Basic Grey wood art from several years ago. My bg paper is part of the AMAZING GRACE collection from FlairDesigns (On this Cross)... I love that it has all different kinds of crosses. I used the SU floral bg stamp inked in VersaMagic purple hydrangea for a couple of reasons...I had it on my design table (part of 4 attempts to get a perfect inking for another card I am working on) and more importantly, the flowers remind me of LIFE and LIVING. The edges of both bg's are touched with ColorBox chalk inks. The card is mounted into white cs.
I am happy I could use Becky's neat design as a springboard for my own. As always I appreciate your time and your comments!

This is an amazing card in its simplicity, yet depth. The ornate crosses on the DP just emphasize the wooden cross you created. Beautiful, just beautiful.
