Thanks Jen,this was a perfect challenge for what I had in mind for my Easter card. I've been waiting to use the rugged cross and damask paper from My Mind's Eye. I wanted the starkness of the cross to represent the sacrifice Jesus made for me and the verse from John 3:16 reminds me why.
The Stampa Rosa cross was stamped twice on GP white cs with Archival Ink sepia. I colored the top cross with Prisma color pencils and blended with mineral spirits. I off-set the cross to create dimension and popped on foam. I draped the cross with purple chenille fiber. My scripture (Paper Inspirations) is stamped on white cs and inked with chalk inks until I was happy with the color. I stamped the verse in Tim Holtz distress dusty concord. The edges were inked in various chalk inks to get the aged look. I tore and curled the ends with my fingers as I also did to the border purple paper.
I really thank you for leaving the gift of your comments!

Ooooooh, this is wonderful! I have to get both these stamps when I can. You did an incredible job! Don't think I can hand tear cs that evenly, but I'm gonna try. But the meaning behind this card is so perfect down to the very tinniest detail. The color of the bg, the ruggedness of the cross, and the purple drape are all so meaningful. The verse reminds us all of the true meaning to Easter. Thanks for sharing!
