a little weaved basket--card, that is! Jen's LSC this week is to use *leftovers* so I thought of this weave technique. It's great for using up scrap paper and ribbons that you may otherwise have a hard time finding a use for! I thought of making the card into a basket type shape by cutting the sides of a white card at a graduating angle (here the crease is at the top and the opening at bottom) and rounding the top corners.
To Weave: cut various strips of desired papers (I cut them a 1/2" each width), place down vertically and adhere down the first row at the very top only. Begin weaving alternating strips horizontally and adhering as you work. Trim excess strips around all sides. That's it!
I sponged around all edges with chestnut roan for some depth and fastened the ribbon to each top side with flower brads. I used various scrap ribbons on the *handle* too. The bird was already stamped and colored, but I didn't have anything for it, so I stuck it on the front and added *luv u*. tfl and have a beautiful day!

Well, this is just too cute! I love the weaving, what a great way to use up those scraps. That little bird is adorable and is perfect on the front of your basket card. Love it!

Linsey love the weaved basket technique! It's an awesome way to use all those scraps that you can't get yourself to throw away. Love the edges sponged, it really adds a lot to it! And the little birdie really pops amongst all those colors...too cute!
