I've never done the split negative technique before, so I was excited to try this challenge. It was fun to put this together, and made alot easier with the help of Reccabecca's directions. I followed it to a T - a great tutorial!!!! I used Versamark and set the butterfly with two different embossing powders - Vertigre and Squash Blossom - with the heatgun. The EP reminds me of a green and a blue patina finish on weathered copper. Rounded the two opposite corners and mounted on black CS. Found this really pretty designer paper that I thought would look nice with the butterfly. Punched the corners and mounted it all on a turquoise cardbase. Added little black punchouts from my hole puncher, and pop-dotted the butterfly and HPH sentiment. Finished off with a ribbon and flower embellishment in the opposite corner.
Thanks for taking a look at my card today, and I wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope this new year brings each of you much happiness, good memories, and plenty of laughter and love!
