I had to do a sympathy card for a co-worker of DH's. I was all set to do the conservative card. Then I thought, nope, this is gonna be a colorful sympathy card celebrating this 95 year old woman's life. I wouldn't be surprised if she resembled the fairy image when she was younger. It is a cotton scrap that I taped onto a piece of distressed cardstock. I used some primas and a little lace for the ribbon. I stamped the sympathy sentiment right onto the cotton. This is a fast way to make a card. 20 minutes! That's really fast for me.

The card is very pretty, but not what I would choose for a sympathy card unless I knew that the deceased had some connection to the images/embellishments on the card. (As an example of my way of thinking - When my mom passed away 2 years ago, we chose a casket that had depictions of violets in each corner (on the outside) because she always had many pots of beautiful violets in her home. It wasn't something that I would expect to see on the outside of a casket, but i was a tribute to her.

I think it is lovely. Especially for someone who has lived 95 years. The more I love the Lord the more I want to celebrate people's lives rather than mourn their deaths.
Just my humble opinion.

I think it is very nice. If it reminds you of this older lady, then more than likely the family members will think the same and appreciate your personalizing this. Wonderful job!
