This is my third and final ATC design for a swap I'm in, and this one was definitely the most labor intensive. Thanks heavens for the person who invented the Stamp-a-Majig!!
I grew up thinking Princess Diana was just the coolest, luckiest gal in the world -- I still remember that summer of excitement surrounding her wedding when I was 10 years old. My mom used to buy me books and magazines about her whenever she ran across one. I still have one or two of them laying around somewhere. All of the recent media about the Concert for Diana (oh, how I used to {heart} Duran Duran... *sigh*) must have seeped into my head, because when I looked at my stamps to see which I wanted to use for this last ATC, this little sheep just begged for me to create something like Diana's famous black sheep sweater. So I did! (And for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, see the blurry photo in the background of Diana taken at a Polo match in 1983 wearing said garment.)
The sheep were stamped in VersaMark on Real Red using the blessed Stamp-A-Majig to line them up, then heat embossed with black embossing powder. The white sheep were colored in with a white Signo gel pen, and the lone 'black sheep' is colored in with a silver metallic Sharpie (black didn't look right because it was too indistinguishable from the ep). The silver looks darker IRL.
Thanks for looking!!

That's so funny, I actually HAD that sweater in blue. Being English, and a young teen when Di-fever hit us in the UK, I HAD to have everything 'Diana' ... so I had the flat pumps, the haircut and THAT sweater! You brought back many happy memories! Oh, and the ATC is cute too!!!!!

Awesome card! Thanks for including the photo. I didn't know about the black sheep sweater... I think Charles was already dating Camilla by the time I started reading tabloids.

What an adorable and inspired ATC! And I'm one of the lucky recipients! I really love this! I can't imagine making ten of these for a swap, but I'm so glad you did. Love that sentiment! The stampa-ma-jig is a very good friend of mine too! BTW, I was 31 when I watched Di's wedding. :o) Linda

What a great idea!!!! I too followed Diana through all of her steps - she would have been the same age as me , had she not passed so tragically!!! My two sons are a little younger - 22 and 17...but we named the second one William! Just b/c we liked it... but oh yeah, I sure remember that sweater! Great story and idea! TFS!

I just came across your ATC. How excellent! I thought Princess Diana was wonderful, too! I actually HAVE this sweater which I purchased from Warm and Wonderful in England just after Diana made it so popular!! I still have it!! It's a classic! Great idea to pull a design from it! Well done!
