This is for LSC121 to use a set that hasn't been used for a long time. The last time I uploaded anything from this set was Oct 2006. We are leaving early in the morning for our 15th annual week long reunion at Cape Hatteras, NC. I am excited to see all my sisters and BIL's again. We have lots of fun cooking, drinking coffee, talking, sitting on the beach and laughing until we almost dampen our panties. I thought using this set is very fitting for the challenge. My husband thinks I'm nuts as I still haven't packed yet. Clothes are in the washer, though.
I stamped the image and masked it to keep clean from the caribbean and caramel. I sponged on both the water and sand with a regular sponge. I hit the sand with IBB to add some texture and then painted in a few sprigs of sea oats. This is what the sand dunes look like along the coast of the Outer Banks. I sketched a sad little lighthouse back in the distance to add something else to the scene as it looked empty to me. I like the look. I sponged in banana along the dune edges and then sponged Bashful Blue and Caribbean with the cloud template to create the sky. I added more Banana to one corner to create a subtle sun. I painted the image with reinkers and a watercolor brush. I used Liquid Applique to create the sea foam and heated. I've had several people ask me how I get the fine look with the LA and not the dreaded blobs. I just apply small little amounts where ever I want the foam and then tap around it a little bit with my finger to spread it out some. I used a Stardust Gelly Roll glitter pen that my new friend, Kim gave me. I've never had one of those before. I outlined the main image and all of the sea oats and around the wave area. I doubt you can see it in the scan. I then sponged the versa pad directly over the water and sky area and embossed with iridescent ice ep to add sparkle and life to the scene. I drew a few too many gulls but I like them.

It's gorgeous! (like everything you do). I've always loved this image; the blue of the water is beautiful. I wish I was going on that vacation you described - it sounds like heaven!

It's so beautiful and serene! Your dunes are fabulous with the sprigs of grass, and the little lighthouse really adds great dimension. Your coloring is awesome, as always. I know you'll have a ton of fun on your trip; you're a joy to be around!
