I made this sympathy card for one of our Board Members...it's not often that I have an idea that works out exactly as I had I thought of it. The poem is printed on vellum, and then it was immediately embossed with clear EP, before the ink dried. The vellum was layered on top of the flowered piece, which I did a reverse mask for the oval and sponged on the Bravo Burgundy ink. THe flowers were done with the markers, and then I did a small piece of burgundy with the floral BG for the left side of the card, under the ribbon.
The verse is as follows:
Her Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of her as gone away-
her journey has just begun
life holds many facets
the Earth is only one
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost-
And she was loved so much.
