Even though I have more patterned paper than I could use in a lifetime, I always look at the little 6x6 pads at the dollar stores or in the $1 bins. The paper is not thick and sometimes the color is a little off, but every now and then I find something great. This paper is from a 12 sheet collection of ocean paper. Mostly just waves, but I make a lot of cards about sailing and I also have the adorable sea gull set from MFT, so I thought this paper would be useful.
As a sailor, this quote always speaks to me. When you are trying to tack into shore against a headwind you can really understand what they are saying here.
I stamped directly on the paper and just used white watercolor paint on the sails.

How very beautiful, and full of peace even if it's also showing windy weather. The beach we camped next to last summer had a lot of sailing/kite-surfing etc activity, and we could really see the skill some people had to move with and against the wind.

I love finding hidden gems in those dollar-store paper pads! This ocean-themed paper is perfect for my sailing-themed cards, especially paired with the adorable seagull set from MFT. Plus, stamping directly on the paper and adding white watercolor paint to the sails adds a charming touch to the design.
