Wow! 1000 sketches. Fabulous!
I had started this card yesterday for the teaparty for Mike and Linda. I went to high school with them, although I only knew Linda well, since we were both band geeks. Ann is younger, I didn't know her until she trained me to take her place at the movie theater in the village. Small world, right?
I drew the shamrock first and colored it, hoping the SC1000 might work for it. I made it work! Cut a circle frame from green metallic and then vellum, not knowing for sure what I would put on it but not wanting to cover up much of the shamrock.
Today I tangled the border and figured out what to do with the lower right elements. Dealing with illness and treatment are a part of life. Last year when I was packing, I found the little four leaf clover stamp on the lower right. CTMH, which is shutting down, I guess. The stamp is part of a large set of little postage stamps for all occasions. I'm glad I found it. Then I remembered I had saved an Irish postage stamp from Sabrina so that is what went onto the circle.
BTW mooka is the name of the pattern in which I did the shamrock.
Because I was concerned the front was a little too somber, I stamped the inside with a funny Irish toast, which Sabrina says she has never heard before, but I think it's entirely possible, and some Irish knot work stamps. Check out the picture of the inside.
And, finally, this is for ABC20-L is for land of the leprechaun. Hah.
Thanks for the challenges; I always have fun with the sketch and Ann, I hope Mike and Linda keep on 'keeping on.' Look, look, look to the rainbow....that's a line from 'Finian's Rainbow'.

Great card! I love the fanciful shamrock you drew, and you did a wonderful job coloring it. I also love the way you highlighted the postage stamp with the silver and velum circles. I am...not good with velum. LOL! So I admire people who can use it well.

First - that sentiment is just so fun - serious and somber with the twist at the end - perfect to bring a smile or out and out guffaw to Mike. Love that ornate shamrock you created!
