I have been pondering all week what to make for this week's teapot tickle that we are sharing with each other. When I moved, I got rid of a lot of packaging etc. Today's IC really helped me, serendipitous really. This is what inspired me: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/118008452728538726/
Because my stuff is still rather scattered, especially the ephemera, it took me a while to make this happen. This is what I used:
-A piece of white cardboard that I think I saved from my days of working at Target. Clothing was wrapped with it.
-An old envelope from my Grandpa Meyer's law practice. When I moved into his house years ago, I found boxes of stationery and envelopes and have saved some.
-A piece of cardboard box that I just received yesterday. I wet it and pulled off the flat top to reveal the corrugation.
-A postcard from a church in SE WI that I saved for a long time. I liked the designs on it, like the girl with the VW van and the 'fellow traveler' piece (my vintage!).
-The last time I visited Holland, MI, I shopped at a store that had a bunch of ephemera. There were these rolled up paintings, who knows who the artists were. A piece of a painting is on top of the envelope. I didn't keep it rolled up so it cracked a bit, more texture.
I trimmed the envelope down a bit, since back then, bigger envelopes were used. I exposed his name and address...yes Menomonee Falls used to be one of those places where no address # was necessary. He would probably be appalled that I used his envelope this way but, on the other hand, he certainly had an artistic eye and could 'think outside of the box.' I'm going to make something small to slip inside the envelope, maybe a bookmark or the like. I have one more piece from the postcard.
As far as the MMJ923 goes, there is paint on the canvas I bought, I used micro beads and there are a bunch of 'found things.' I also added gold Lunar Paste to the torn pieces of cardboard. I had a blast with this as I didn't use anything typically for stamping.
Thanks for the challenges!
