My grandmother had glads growing in her garden. They were against the house where their long stems could lean and not break. Her name was Gladys, and her birthday was August 23rd (1896), and I was thinking of her the whole time I was making this.
I know these are hollyhocks, but they will have to do.

Aww, such a sweet memory of your grandmother, and what pretty red gladiolus. I can understand her planting them so they would lean against the house since they are so tall. I like your little red butterfly, too!

I always like seeing that die, so I don't mind that they are not gladioli - and you've incorporated those into your write-up. My FIL always grew his along a wall too.
