Diane is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and I adore the combo she gave us to play with: Parakeet Party, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather.
This is my second card for this week's color combo. I used another quadrant of the sheet I made with my new Bird Party Create in Quads stencils. These sets are amazing--the stencils are sized for a full sheet of cardstock, but there are four designs, and four different stencils to be layered with four different colors. The result is four different card fronts. For my fourth color, I used a neutral, Early Espresso.
And two new firsts for me: I used vinyl transfer tape to trace around the birds, then removed it and fussy cut on the tracing line, put it back in place and used it as a mask for the hearts. I didn't have a heart stencil, so I used a cover plate to make my own stencil from a piece of window sheet for the background hearts.
The greeting is white embossed, then die cut. There are two white die cuts glued under the greeting to give some dimension.
This card is for my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary this week. Thanks for taking a peek at my card. This color combo is such fun to work with--please join us, give it a try, and post your creation in the gallery for us all to admire.
