I have been having trouble with graduation cards lately. I just can't decide what to do when I need one. Thank goodness for the Featured Stamper challenge. This week's FS is caterinafmig. Caterina has such a lovely gallery and I knew I would be able to find something fun to inspire my grad card. I went with this one which reminded me that I had this fun die from Erin Lee Creative. I also liked Caterina's use of patterned paper with an embossing folder. So I grabbed a leftover background from my drawer, die cut the words out of it and then embossed it. Not sure that I love my choice of EF. But I do love the rest of the card. I wanted to print the name and year on a graduation cap, so I found this Bugaboo digi that I had and printed it with name and year. Then I cut it with my ScanNCut and tried something a little different. I added a thick border and cut it in black to mount it on. I like that and think I'll do it more often. Oh, and I colored the cap in the same color as the background because this is my attempt at monochrome for the WT challenge. It's the most monochrome you're going to get from me :0)
Thanks for the inspiration, Caterina!

Again you tempt me to buy a Scan-N-Cut because I love the look of borders on so many things -- and this black border against the blues looks fabulous. Your gel plate print looks great from the starting gate and even better with the added bit of texture from the embossing. So clever in adding the personalization. Fab card!
