It's birthday time again for another crafter, and I needed to finish a past due challenge. Ideas had been mulling around in my head of how to meet the challenge requirements of using lots of color, yet making a fun birthday card as well. I also wanted to throw in as many other new or make-up challenges as I could.
I also had some Paper Pumpkin kits that I had not even opened the packages, much less given them any thought to doing something with them. I decided this would be where I started by looking for one that used a lot of color. I found that the "So Cool" April 2021 would probably work really well. Then, true to my usual mode, I did not want to make one of the kit designs, so I needed to keep that in mind as I searched for challenge ideas. In this journey, I found 12 challenges and lots of ideas for my colorful birthday design. The challenges found are listed below:
1) MSP55 - Misti Monthly Mondays--March 2022/ All Occasion Inspiration - 3/1/22. Challenge: create a card for a not-so-mainstream occasion, i.e., a National "something" Day. My card is for National Popsicle celebrated on May 27.
2) AOCC22 - All Occasion Card Challenge/ March 2022. An ongoing/monthly challenge that encourages you to set goals ahead for each month to help you complete and mail your cards more timely! This is a much needed birthday card for a crafting friends March birthday!
3) USEIT2022 - Use It Challenge/ March 2022 - 3/1/22. An ongoing/ annual challenge that requires you to use OLD/ DUSTY and long unused items and/or OLD/NEW items purchased, never used, and seemingly forgotten! OLD/NEW item: I final opened the Paper Pumpkin April 2021 - So Cool kit and used parts of the kit to make this card: envelope insides for stripe, a popsicle sticker, and sentiment stamp.
4) MAR22VSNMINI3 - Virtual Stamp Night/ In A Word - 2/18/22. Challenge requirements are a secret unless you are a Fan Club Member. If you have not joined it's lots of fun. Check it out here: Fan Club Membership Information!
5) ABC16M13 - Alphabet Challenge/ Letter M = Many - 2/9/22. My card has many of lots of things...many stripes, many colors, many splatters.
6) F4A614 - Free 4 All Challenge/ Just Desserts - 11/26/21. Feature a favorite dessert on your card. Mine is a cool and refreshing popsicle on a hot summer day!
7) DDSKETCH0921 - Fan Club Monthly Challenge--September 2021/ Popping In - 9/15/21. Challenge: get your creativity popping with dimensional elements, pop art, pop music, and more, like featuring soda pop, lollipop, popcorn, etc. I'm featuring a colorful POPsicle that is POPped up with dimensionals. It is for the Sketch challenge. Note: The three elements on the lower half of the sketch on my card are the 2 pearls with the sentiment in between.
WT860 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ Rainbows - 9/2/21. I've used a rainbow of colors in my tropical popsicle and my patterned paper.
9) IC773 - Inspiration Challenge/ Reshot - 9/26/20. I found inspiration from this popsicle picture: Cool Down!
10) FS691 - Featured Stamper/ aztk (aka Teresa) - 5/3/20. The rainbow colored, splattered umbrella caught my eye as an inspiration for color: Love the Rain! I kept the colorful rainbow idea and splatters but changed them to pink. I kept a striped dsp, but changed it to the rainbow colors. I also kept a focal panel layout, but changed mine to circular with popsicle rather than a girl.
11) MMTPT573 - Teapot Challenge/ The Need to Read - 7/16/19. Challenge: Our teapot recipient just had surgery and will need some books to read. Let's make our cards involving reading. I went on a little bit of a deviation for the challenge and chose a book for the teapotter to read and got inspiration from the book cover for my card, using the popsicle theme. Take a peek at the synopsis here: Popsicles and Poisons: A Cozy Murder Mystery! I am very late to the party, so I kept with the theme, but my card will go to a crafting friend for her birthday. Maybe she'd like a suggestion for a fun looking mystery!
12) CAS489 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Tropical Paradise - 7/9/18. Challenge: Show something tropical on your card...a drink, tropical colors, etc. My card features a popsicle in tropical fruit flavors and colors.
