This week's color challenge was fortuitous for me as I was planning on coloring a bright bouquet for my Aunt's upcoming birthday. Perfect colors for this occasion.
To start my card, I die cut the numbers (91 in case you can't see them well) first, dry embossed the panel and then inlaid the numbers back into the panel. I did this because I wanted the numbers to be plain so they might stand out a bit from the embossing and because die cutting after embossing would have flattened it out and I really wanted that deeper 3D look. The flowers were stamped, colored and fussy-cut around the edges. And I finished off with the bubbles for a little extra "something something".
My Aunt is turning 91 and she is a spitfire. She still drives all around L.A. County (which is no easy task for anyone); she continued as a beautician til 2021 when COVID made it uneconomical to do so; she still has a few clients she cuts at their home; she does her own house cleaning and yard work including chomping on all the bushes and trees in her yard; she hits the Casinso a couple times a month; her memory is still sharp (better than mine) and she loves to dish the dirt on all her siblings. She's a hoot. I wish had her drive and moxie at my age. Hope you are enjoying your day and adding a bit of moxie to it. TFL

Absolutely stunning. I love the bold beautiful flowers with the subtle numbers. What a cool idea to inlay the numbers. Your aunt sounds like an amazing woman.
