First, I have to say that Berneice reminds me SO MUCH of my own dear mother who maintained her own home until this age of 94 (then 3 more years in assisted living), so I feel truly honored to create a card filled with sunshine and serenity for her!
One of the things I have been learning in my "old age" is how to watercolor - so that is the technique I used on this card for Bernice. I know I am usually too critical of my own work and often paintings "grow on me" after some time has passed. This tropical sunset is one that I salvaged after several weeks of laying on my table. I stamped the island with the palm trees and the duck swimming near the grassy shore plus a sentiment. Edged in black and mounted onto my white card base.

Gorgeous card Linda. Your watercolouring is superb and I love to read where someone has taken up a new subject later in life and is mastering it. Well done. Your scene reminds me of our sunsets after a very hot day. I can literally feel those waves lapping up against me. Love it and I’m sure Berniece will. Happy day

It is gorgeous, Linda and takes me away to some of my fave visits to Maui. Love the sunset you created. I like the black images of palm trees and the grassy scene with the little duck. Charming!
