This week's tea party is for Anne/jdmommy's DIL, Debbie, who broke her leg (major ouch!), but, with crutches and a mask, is now back in school, teaching Math. I hope you join us to wish her speedy recovery!
Anita/snietje challenged us to use lighthouses in our cards, since Debbie likes them. Also, since she is a Math teacher, Anita added the challenge of putting a number - even if it's hidden.
I sketched the lighthouse and the cliff then water colored it, the violet clouds (it looks pinkish in the pic, but it is actually violet) were stenciled, the sea was also water colored, but the white foam was done using white acrylic paint. I really loved Anita's idea of hiding numbers in the painting, and though it may be hard to see, 1, 2 and 3 are in there. What is maybe easier to see are some mathematical symbols: +, - , x, the symbol for division, =, the symbol for pi, a pair of parenthesis, the square root symbol, the greater than symbol, the less than symbol, and the symbol for an angle.
Thank you for the challenge, Anita - hiding the math symbols was specially fun! Thank you for looking!

Oh Gem this is so gorgeous. The drawing, the colors, the watercolor look, everything!!! I love what Claudia said about ready to buy that stamp. LOL. You fooled and delighted us again. Couldn’t find the numbers but did see your symbols. Brava! 👏👏👏

This is a super appealing lighthouse - SO much detail! I like the departure from blue skies and water, too with the shades of violet for a really unique look.
