In 2017 I visited Canada on a take the Scenic Route tour through the Rockies. It is just so hard to believe that it is now coming up for four years ago. I remember one of the highlights of the tour was seeing a mother and baby Grizzly bear cub walking along the road side - nibbling on fresh green shoots and berries. Both were oblivious to the coach load of oohinh and aahing tourists with cameras. Kept us all entertained for around 30 minutes - making us a lot of very happy tourists. To top of the holiday I was staying with a friend in Thunder Bay and one morning while sitting having breakfast as you do when a black bear wandered past the window and through the yard towards the apple tree. Just so amazing to see one so close up.
To create my scene I created a water colour background by smooching distress inks onto a card using a small acrylic block. I stamped and embossed the bear in black ink and coloured it in with water colour pencils before fussy cutting it out. I stamped the trees and foliage on the background panel before gluing the bear on top.
I am having so much trouble uploading this card tonight - fingers crossed this time that it will work.
Hope you enjoy my visit to the Wilds of Canada.

wow. Those kinds of images-ones with the little ones inside scare me. But this is so fantastic...your colors in the background flow just beautifully with your bear the tree style really works too!
A friend in NJ sees black bears a lot around their home in Chester-walking up to front doors etc. They are used to it. I would freak if I was outside.
