Thank you Cathy, for the Take the Scenic Route challenge. I like to think I always take the scenic route. Or at least notice something that will be a positive in my attitude (in the case of driving to work)! I know I have to draw from the wellspring within to hold on to a positive attitude.
I really wanted to create 'a breaking out', a blossoming. I chose to use an old wall (Technique Junkies) inked and embossed and rubbed with various hues to depict old. The young woman is pensive, drawing on the reserves developed within. She is pondering what brings her peace. I used a few Copics to color her lips and the ribbon on her head covering. The panel was torn by hand and embossed with the Mixed Metals ep. I used a piece of cardboard run through the Big Shot and then misted with water and embossed with the Anna Griffin ef. Stapled with gold staples.
Where do you find yourself again and again? Is it a special place, is it within a book, or perhaps surrounded by loved ones? I'm thinking on this deeply today as my last, oldest family member has left the bonds of this world. I am now the matriarch, I wonder where the time has gone...
Thank you for taking a closer look at my scenic route...I'm on an inner journey...

My first thought on looking at this woman was...she's the Vermeer woman...you just can't see her pearl earring. Your card and what you've written is certainly thought provoking...we all have to face our own mortality and as we go into different phases of our life we have different perspectives. Love the bg on this, the three pieces could represent the generational time periods of one's life.
