Since this is a wedding inspiration site for the most part, I have two wedding stories for you:
March 2020, my daughter in law's oldest brother was to get married in New Zealand. Immediate family was to go. They were to leave March 13, the day NZ closed their borders. They had already decided not to go, much to the dismay of the bridal couple, but in the end, none went and it's a good thing because they would have been marooned there for two weeks with nothing open and I doubt the wedding would have happened. They're still not married. And yes, they all got refunds.
Second story:in the early 2000s, a high school friend of mine got married in New Hampshire. We went, our one job, besides reading scripture, was to pick up the cake on our way to the wedding. We're following some friends of hers in our rental car, get to this quaint little town, traffic comes to a dead stand still. Up ahead, we can see flags bobbing and hear music. There is a Founder's Day parade going right through town, right in front of the bakery. We had no choice but to the follow the parade; I got out of the car, ran into the bakery, picked up the cake, said to them 'wouldn't it have been nice if we knew there was a parade going through town?' (no response!!), rushed back to the cars as the drivers continued following the parade. In high heels. We were a little late. Who can make these stories up?? I guess the best wedding memories are the glitches, although Leah's brother and his fiance have yet to recover from their dream shattered.
I needed to make a card for a swap with this technique: color blocked children's card. Yes I have two granddaughters but I don't have any other children in my life. This die set is sort of difficult to use; you end up cutting extra stuff, just to get the colors you want. But it is darn cute. I didn't mean to cut the hair in black and brown, it just happened. Oh well, the longer hair looks like it in the background, right?
Very fun site, although the money spent on weddings always astounds me. And add in a destination wedding?!??? Holy wedding bells!

I like the sponged blocked background with the stars, very nice. That die was instantly recognisable as Santoro. That type where you have to cut multiple colours I find frustrating to use. I generally end up cutting from watercolour paper or white card and colouring myself.
Funny, I was just remembering that NZ wedding the other day, I think a couple
of kegs of beer from NZ reminded me.

Adorable die and I love the way you did the hair. Wonderfully done card too - I love the sketch and stars. Your stories are fun too. HUgz

Love how you translated your inspiration into this card, Jean! The little girl with two-toned hair is adorable! Enjoyed reading about your wedding stories...I feel sorry about the couple in NZ, I hope they get to do the wedding after all this is over! Also, you're right, the glitches are the best wedding memories!
