Jean Bean is our hostess for this month's Teapot Tickle and she has introduced us to the art of Mary Nohl. I really enjoyed reading about Mary and looking at her art. I was happily inspired to use some of my own "junk". I have a drawer full of treasures waiting to be put on cards. It used to be in a shoebox, but I ran out of room in the shoebox, so now it's a drawer. I pulled the ribbon flower with pearl center shoe clip out of the drawer, and the three pink flowers and butterfly out of the drawer. The flowers and butterfly were given to me by a friend. She had pulled them off of one of her cards that was mailed to her and gave them to me for my cards. Everyone I know saves things for me. Then I dug through my big bin of old cards for a really old one to use for my background. It has pretty soft flowers and it was a card from my cousin's Christening about forty years ago. What else? I decided I needed a fun whimsical creature - but mine are cuter than Mary's. I thought this cute butterfly bear from Bugaboo would fit perfectly in my garden. Then I needed to die cut some grass for him to rest in. This glittery grass was also die cut from an old Hallmark card--it was a Snoopy anniversary card from my cousin to my aunt and uncle. Obviously, the bear needed glitter, but then the top of the card was lacking in glitter, so I applied Stickles to the whole edge of the card. Finally, I needed a sentiment and decided to add some more glitter with a "Hi" cut out of glitter fun foam. That was a fun challenge, Jean!
