My friend gave me the WARMEST fleece lined slippers and some comfy PJs and I needed to thank her with more than just a call. She loves Paris and I had been planning on using this die on a card for her when I saw Anita's Technique Challenge today.
I used packing tape on the Bazzill card stock and cut out the sentiment. Then thought why not the tower too. That took two strips of tape, but this die is so detailed, the line doesn't show. Love the look and will definitely be using this technique again. Thanks Anita.
For the bg, I masked the edged then stamped the script in CP blue. Used Distress paste with the rose stencil. Heat set then ink blended the DOX. I know, I know, you're thinking this woman must only own two colors of DOX. I do have others, but I just really love this combo. I didn't want just a straight egde, so I thought I would use Jen's (Jennifrann) trick from her last card. I die cut the stitched rectangle then tried to tear along the perforation, I didn't do as good a job as Jen, so my edges are more torn/jagged but that is sort of what I wanted anyways. Here's a link to Jennifrann's card: TLC827 Light Up My Life by Jennifrann at Splitcoaststampers
Next time, if there is one, I will die cut before I paste. The die cut process did flatten the paste a bit, but it's still there and visible. Just liked it better before it got smooshed.
Merci Beaucoup for stopping by. And I hope you have something to keep you warm too...if not slippers maybe some hot cocoa, a kitten, or a favorite blanket. Hugs.

LOVELY smooshed, embossed, and text-stamped background...perfect for your Eiffel Tower. Love the distressed, frayed edges...they are just too perfect to finish the card!
