Chris is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has asked us to make a card using Mint Macaron, Misty Moonlight, and Calypso Coral. The dessert option is to add your favorite yellow to the mix. Check!
I started out feeling a bit stumped, but then I remembered this pretty set of dies that I've had for several months, and it hadn't been out of the package. I decided it was time for a lovely bouquet of flowers for someone who has been especially kind to me.
I started out with a panel of Mint Macaron, onto which I randomly stamped the script from "The Poinsettia," by Tim Holtz, and I also inked up the edges with the same ink and a sponge. Next I die-cut all the different flower elements in each of the other colors, and inked up all the edges in matching ink. I cut some leaves and stems from Mossy Meadow (a neutral color from our palette). The glove layers were cut from Very Vanilla and Early Espresso. Then came the fun part: mixing and matching different flower elements in different colors to create my bouquet.
As a finishing touch, I die-cut the greeting in gold foil and added a few enamel dots, and mounted the layer on a base of heavy white cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
