Hello everyone. Iâm thrilled to once again join the very talented Color Challenge Design Team for another week of Color Challenge fun. Mango Melody, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red are the colors chosen by Karen, our host. These colors are amazing and Iâm sure you will enjoy using them along with the dessert option - ribbon.
My card card features Pink Fresh Studio âMake a Wishâ stamp set. The images were stamped using Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, Carved Pumpkin, and Barn Door Distress Inks along with a neutral gray.
The cake was stamped with Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin. Think of the flowers being made of gum paste and fondant even though theyâre stamped with Crushed Olive and Barn Door inks. When Cupcake Wars and Cake Boss were on TV, I really got into cake and cupcake decorating. I had every cake decorating do-dad you could think of. I even took several cake decorating classes. It was a lot of fun. I still decorate, but not nearly as much as I used to.
Now, back to my cardâ¦. The cake, stand, and floral elements all had to be fussy cut since I donât have the matching dies. I find fussy cutting Io be very calming. Before everything was glued down, I blended Carved Pumpkin on the white cardstock then glued everything down. I stamped the sentiment in crisp black ink and adhered everything onto a white top-folding card. The last thing to be placed on my card was the ribbon. The ribbon is stamped, so I hope it counts as dessert!
I really hope you will join us for this weekâs Color Challenge!

This cake makes me think of one I saw on the Great British Baking Show where they made thin pancake like layers with filling in between them. Yum! Very pretty card

Marianne, this is so pretty! Love your use of the distress inks to sponge in the background (looks great) and also on your cake. Fun to read your post. Framing this in yellow ties all your colors in perfectly. Love the boldness of the sentiment too!
