The pitcher and foliage were die cut using watercolor paper.....then watercolored. The bg was done by layering stencils and shading with THOI....turned out a little wonky, but I liked it....maybe like a quilt in the bg.

Sallie, so many great elements when I saw this great piece of artwork up close! first, the amazing botanicals inside the vintage pitcher, your coloring and shading of those is truly outstanding in beauty and reality. That cool pitcher with the stitched line is the perfect receptacle for the autumn foliage. You are so well versed in balancing the colors of various elements to create such unity and cohesion, wow!
I personally love the wonky element of your background, and it on the top reminded me of a vintage backsplash, but further down, I was thinking it looked like a quilt complete with some folds, like it was blowing a bit in a gentle breeze, not wonky at all--I'm using your term but I think it's just plain COOL!
Your artwork always inspires, and it astonishes me to see such greatness in both individual elements as well as the unified whole artwork. Thank you for teaching me so much as I look at your work.
Favorited, I will be listing this in my CAS Favorites later today.
