Fine Gardening...I love that, Stacy. Thanks for bringing it to us! It was this Pin Cushion Plant that caught my eye. I was just deadheading mine this afternoon. Such a charming flower! And to Kyra, the MIX this week calls for doing more of What Makes You Happy. More gardening makes me very happy. But when I say gardening, I don't mean produce. I grow flowers so I can cut bouquets to take into work...just for the beauty of having fresh flowers around me. I raise Japanese Maples in pots 'cause if we were to ever move, I couldn't bear to leave them behind...I actually have 'rooms' out in my garden for different purposes. But no swimming pool!
My card uses a super cool Technique Junkies stamp...I first selected a bit of an AI bg to stamp the flower. I wanted it to be growing beyond it's border so freestyle the shape. Stamped the base with the sentiment again on a white panel. Decided the border of the flower needed trimming up and smeared the actual flower...smeared it 'off' as much as I could and then restamped with the 'Imperial Purple' and then embossed with clear ep. Raised both the panel and flower above the base. A pleated purple trim along the bottom.
My mixed media included Alcohol Inks bg, stamping, embossing, and fiber trim. Thanks for stopping by...

I used to have this plant in my garden - some seem to disappear the next year - probably not planted in a happy spot for them poor things - what a great stamp and wonderful coloring on it Susan - love that sentiment as well - and your pretty pleated trim gives added texture!

This bold, beautiful flower is fantastic, Susan. I love the abstract way you colored it and that the remainder of the card is simple. The focus stays on that wonderful blossom. As for the sentiment, couldn't be more perfect for us as we struggle with on-going issues associated with our pandemic. That should be a billboard!
