I made this card for today's Ways To Use It Challenge. Cathy is our hostess and she has a wonderful challenge for us to do one layer cards. Fun! While I love to do lots of layers, I do love making one-layer cards too. Technically, there is a top layer on this card so it is not completely one layer.
Using the debossing die from the stitched blooms set, I placed it in the corner to get a stitching pattern embossed into the cardstock. Then using distress ink, sponged the blue ink onto the top panel using a makeup brush. Die cut the flowers and leaves from white cardstock, then inked them up in a lighter ink and added darker ink onto the stamp using a sponge dauber before stamping. This adds a little color variation that I like. The flowers and leaves are glued directly onto the top panel of the card so they are flat to the card. Adhered the top image panel to the card base, and done.
Cathy, thank you for this wonderful challenge today; I really enjoyed making this card today. ~Karen.
