This tag is for the Alpha D challenge. D = Doll, dressed up, Dee (short for Audrey lol) and blue dancing shoes. It is also for the bubble wrap challenge.
I made Dee's dress a week ago for the bubble wrap challenge but didn't like the panel which started off for the mono challenge too using shades of purple, so I added more bubble wrap and colours. It's sort of more a tie die dress or maybe you can see the flowers on it lol.
When I saw the D challenge I was going to do a Dr card or a daffodil or daisy card but a few got in before me. It was whilst I was looking at my dream and discover words in my room that I spied my doll. She's new...yep I've been online shopping. What else to do during Covid19, plus there were some bargains to be had on Amazon Oz lol.
So meet Audrey, Dee for short as we Aussies always shorten words lol. I think she has a face somewhere but I can't find that stamp on Amazon lol, so we shall leave her faceless for now.
I've always intended to use my JN dies and stamps for mixed media and it was whilst I was looking for some clothes for her that I spotted my bubble wrap flower panel staring at me. Perfect. Die cut that and also the gold underskirt and top...after all just because we are in ISO doesn't mean a girl can't still dress up...or dance.
I think I must be finding my inner child...when I was young...not that long ago...*wink*, I used to spend hours playing with cut out dolls and their garments from a UK magazine called Bunty. Gosh I loved those paper dolls. My sister still reminds me of how many hours I played with them dressing them up lol. I finally threw the shoebox full of them away when I was 12 and still regret it to this day......
Which is why I now find myself cutting out Dee and dressing her up lol.
More on the process..I digress....
Bling added and shoes and hair coloured. She does have 2 legs...she's just standing like a lady. I think I must be more like her sister who sprawls around in jeans lol.
The tag wasn't any particular size. I just happened to have a piece of CS on my table. Stencilled and inked that up. Added gel medium. Why you may ask. I'm asking myself the same thing. I saw it on a video and though it looked a great technique, it's still sticky after over a day and I'm sure I've forgotten a step lol.
TH stamps out and stamped around the edges and as this lady is in ISO, dressed up and with her best dancing shoes on, she thinks it is 5 o'clock somewhere....which means champers time, or in my case G&T time lol. She is also dreaming...another D...of her next travels.
This tag will go onto a scrapbook page I intend to create about this unusual time.
Now get out those glad rags and have yourself a party in ISO...even if it is only a party of 1. Enjoy.
TFL. Keep well. Have fun

Love everything about this, and especially the story! I have lots of JN stamps but no dies. My stamps don't have faces, but there are stamps that can be purchased to stamp on faces. I still love playing with my JN dolls.

You are quite the chatterbox today, Jayne, but I loved reading this write-up, even though I've got other things to do...Ok, on with the comment. Lots of pretty texture and interest going on in the bg for such a small tag! Your Dee looks so pretty, I'm envious of that Gorgeous purple dress she's donning! Love the golden accents and bling! An amazing tag and perfect sentiment for this day and time we are enduring~

Oh Jayne, this is so fun and I love the dress and sentiment you added (so true!!!), Your textured background is wonderful, love all of the added details. Best of all, your write up! I used to love paper dolls. I did lots of fussy cutting and made some for my girls, they did not engage too much- but I do so love the memories and your fun tag put a big smile on my face!

What a truly fantastic tag this is Jayne. How fun to make a tag based on your paper dolls from childhood (I loved paper dolls too and wish I still had mine too). I love the colors and all the accessories you added to Dee, along with all the texture and colors you have in this wonderful tag. What a fantastic project this is for the letter D! ~Karen.
