Today's challenge took me way out of my comfort zone. Our Featured Stamper is sharonwisely and her mixed media/collage style is very different from mine. I needed inspiration for a 90th birthday card that my friend asked me to make for her uncle. I decided to make a vintage collage style card inspired by this one. I used a bird digi that I just purchased from Polka Dot Orchard and I even had to fussy cut, because my ScanNCut didn't want to recognize it even after I traced a line all the way around it. I had some freebie digital paper from this week at the Hungry JPEG. It was vintage French rose paper. And it was a good starting point. Heather (justampin) had just sent me the SU Well Dressed set that I thought would be fun to add to the collage for a 90 year old gentleman. Then I decided to play with the Perfect Pearls that I just bought on clearance at Joann. I never knew what Perfect Pearls were but now they're my favorite thing! I stamped some random backgrounds and added red Perfect Pearls. Then I used a vintage number set that I got for Christmas to stamp a 90 and one of my favorite SU sentiments. My collage still needed something, so I added in some script stamping, edged with Ground Espresso and added a bit of sponged Ground Espresso, and splattered some black paint. Then I decided I needed an extra die cut branch, so I die cut this Tim Holtz flower out of kraft, sponged with Forest Moss and coated with green Perfect Pearls. Oh the shimmer! It was hard work but I'm happy with the result.
