My Dad passed away a year ago (and my Mum three years ago), so my sisters and I have been going through all the old family albums. There are photos of us from the 50s dressed in coats and hats like this so I decided to use this image for my retro fashion card. We even had a little black dog back then! So you can see why I had to buy this stamp!
I stamped the image and watercoloured it with my Gansai Tambi paints. I mixed some black with iridescent white paint for the ground. And then mixed the palest blue with a lot of the iridescent white to do a very light wash over the top area of the panel.
Then I added more blue to the iridescent white and painted it onto a scrap of watercolour paper. When dry, I die cut the small snowflakes and the sentiment from it.
I popped the panel up on fun foam on a blue/grey card base. In real life, it's much closer in colour to the snowflakes than it appears in the photo.

Terrific vintage image Susan. I can see why you needed to get it since it reminds you of your childhood. I have a few stamps that I have bought for the very same reason.

Beautiful coloring of this image! I’m sorry for your losses. Going through belongings and memorabilia is a bittersweet process at best but I’m glad you have good memories to rediscover!

Adorable retro child. Even the dog looks retro. I spy a little skirt over the pants. I rember when we did that, and the pants were not leggings! We were not allowed to wear pants in school, so we wore them under our skirts, and took them off before class. Sigh! A long time ago.
