Stef is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us the palette of Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and Pool Party. The dessert option is "texture."
I started out with the Pretty Peonies background stamp. It is very happy, as it saw ink for the first time today after sitting in a box for months!
I wanted to try out my new set of watercolor pencils. Y'know, they always say to start with a small set, just in case you don't like them. My problem is, I always like them and then regret I don't have more colors! Today I really took advantage of our guideline to use the closest colors you have to the challenge colors. My leaves are a close (?) facsimile of the neutral, Mossy Meadow. Sorta.
I cut a thin frame from gold foil paper, and also die cut the "happy" and "birthday" from gold foil. I cut the words twice more from white cardstock and stacked them in order to get the texture for the dessert option. Extra dessert for the sequins, too!
I made this card for a friend who is celebrating her 94th birthday this month. She is an amazing woman!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

So many things to love about this card, Barbara! The
juxtaposition of the gold frame against the field of peonies
is so interesting! Glad you had fun with your new tools!
