I used this week's color challenge colors as well.
I followed the steps in Dina's tutorial to make this double twist easel card. When she warns you about planning for the orientation of your front panels...well, let's just say this is the second time my front panels were adhered to the base!
I stamped my pine boughs tone on tone on the Pear Pizzazz and did the same for my ornaments, then punched them out. I added a silver mirror frame around each front panel for some shine. I drew in the ornament hangers with the silver marker. I did pop up the Garden Green ornament with a dimensional.
I decided I wanted a plaid background for the base but do not have a Pear Pizzazz marker. So I created it with Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, and silver and then sponged Pear Pizzazz over the top and I like how that turned out.
I heat embossed the sentiment in silver and die cut it using some lovely scalloped circle dies that were gifted to me, also creating a mat with silver mirror paper.
The inset to the right is a close up of the belly band for closing the card. I wanted something a little fancy so I die cut the detailed floral thinlits from silver mirror paper, glued that to Cherry Cobbler cs, and then punched it out with the ornament punch. I also die cut a scalloped square to go under it.
This was fun to make, thanks for the challenge!
And thanks for looking!
